Genesis Environmental Solutions Named DBE of the Year
Blue Springs, Missouri, May 8, 2012 – Genesis Environmental Solutions, Inc. of Blue Springs, Missouri, has been named the 2012 "Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) of the Year.” The award was made during an Award Luncheon Ceremony at the annual Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Contract Compliance Workshop in Kansas City, Missouri. The April event was hosted by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), External Civil Rights Division.
The state honor was awarded to Genesis for their participation with MoDOT and success in the heavy highway industry. Genesis performed protective coating applications on concrete bridge structures for the “Missouri Safe and Sound” project, an initiative to rehabilitate 800+ bridges across the state.

Genesis Environmental Solutions, Inc., established in 2004 and headquartered in Blue Spring, Missouri, provides a wide variety of services for government and private industries, including industrial painting services, protective coatings and linings installations, storage tank services, environmental remediation and construction, and industrial cleaning. The company has twenty-one full-time employees and has recently expanded operations throughout the United States.
The DBE program is a federally mandated program administered by MoDOT’s External Civil Rights Division. The office is responsible for the certification of firms owned and operated by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The overall goal of the program is to provide opportunities to participate in the economic benefits of highway construction to small businesses owned and operated by disadvantaged individuals.
