Discover why corporations choose Genesis for surface preparation and industrial coatings projects.
The GES Industrial Painting division offers a variety of cleaning and surface preparation methods, including hydro blasting, vapor blasting, special media blasting and abrasive blasting.
Sandblasting is the common term for abrasive blasting or grit blasting, but sand is rarely used anymore. To conform to new OSHA standards, GES does not use crystalline silica sand. Instead, safer and more effective media are available, such as steel grit and shot, glass bead, aluminum oxide, garnet and slag. Each media has different characteristics regarding size, hardness, mass, sharpness break down rate and cleanup requirements, so it's important that the job is done by a team who knows how to choose the ideal abrasive for your project.
Genesis owns specialized blasting equipment that most other industrial painting companies rent. This makes it unlikely that a project would be stalled because the necessary equipment is unavailable. We can blast surfaces at your location or at our fully enclosed in-house blast room (see below).
In addition to on-site sand blasting services, Genesis has its own in-house blast shop. Centrally located in the Kansas City area, the facility has a 10 ton overhead crane and a fully enclosed blast room complete with a steel grit reclaimer, full ventilation and containment. Our blast booth meets and exceeds worker safety standards.
If industrial deleading is required, our specialists have decades of experience in hazardous coatings removal. Supervisor and competent person training for deleading (SSPC-C3) has been completed by all persons involved in this highly specialized field.
In addition to blasting services, the Genesis Industrial Painting division provides complete coatings services. Our specialists have decades of field and technical coating experience and, in consult with industry vendors, can recommend a solution to your coating related problem.
